Author Guidelines

Applied AI Research (AAIR) publishes original, peer-reviewed research focused on the engineering, governance, and real-world implementation of Artificial Intelligence systems across industry, government, and interdisciplinary domains.

1. Scope of Submissions

We welcome manuscripts in areas including:

-       AI engineering (cloud and edge implementations)

-       AI in cybersecurity and risk management

-       Human–AI collaboration

-       Data governance for AI systems and AI agents

-       AI applications in engineering sciences

-       Responsible AI and large-scale deployment

-       Public sector and regulated AI systems

-       Mathematical foundations for applied AI

Submissions must demonstrate technical rigor, practical relevance, and interdisciplinary awareness.

2. Article Types

-       Research Articles (6,000–8,000 words)

-       Review Articles (5,000–8,000 words)

-       Perspectives / Applied Insights (3,000–5,000 words)

Word counts exclude references.

3. Formatting Requirements

-       Structured abstract (200–300 words)

-       4–6 keywords

-       Clearly defined methodology

-       High-resolution figures (if applicable)

-       Citation style: APA or IEEE (select one and stay consistent)

-       Manuscripts must be anonymised for double-blind peer review

4. Ethical Standards

-       Submissions must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.

-       Authors must disclose conflicts of interest.

-       Use of generative AI tools in writing must be disclosed.

-       Research involving human participants must have appropriate ethical approval.

5. Review Process

AAIR operates a double-blind peer review process.
Each submission is reviewed by at least two independent experts.

6. Submission Checklist

Before submission, authors must ensure:

-       Manuscript is anonymised

-       Abstract and keywords included

-       Figures and tables properly labelled

-       References complete and consistent

-       Required permissions obtained

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

Before proceeding, authors must confirm that:

☐ The submission has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal.

☐ The manuscript aligns with the aims and scope of Applied AI Research.

☐ The manuscript file has been anonymised for double-blind peer review (no author names, affiliations, acknowledgements, or self-identifying references).

☐ The manuscript includes:

  • A structured abstract (200–300 words)

  • 4–6 keywords

  • Complete references

☐ All figures, tables, and supplementary materials are properly labelled and cited within the text.

☐ All necessary permissions have been obtained for copyrighted material.

☐ Any use of generative AI tools in writing or data analysis has been appropriately disclosed.

☐ Where applicable, ethical approval has been obtained for research involving human participants.

☐ All listed authors have approved the submission and agree to its submission to this journal.
